Maddie LeMasters named ACFL 14U Fall Spotlight Athlete for 2021

The Atlantic Coast Fastpitch League (ACFL) is proud to name Maddie LeMasters the ACFL’s 14U Fall Spotlight Athlete for 2021. The Chesapeake, VA  native hit .438 with an OPS of 1.009. She also recorded six RBIs and two stolen bases. LeMasters is a member of Starz Gold National.

Meet Maddie:

Q: Tell us a little bit about you and your softball story?
A: I started playing softball when I was 4 years old. I’ve always loved softball and wanted to excel in the sport. I have learned the importance of teamwork and how to be a reliable and supportive teammate. Many of my teammates over the years have become lifelong friends. Playing softball has helped me to be more social, build self-esteem, and gain confidence in myself to know that if I try hard enough, I can reach my goals. I have had a lot of great coaches that have helped me get to the level I’m at today. I wouldn’t love softball if I hadn’t had supportive coaches who believed in me and helped me along the way. Softball will always be a big part of my life and I thank God for giving me the strength and ability to play.

Q: What is your favorite softball memory?
A: I have so many wonderful memories while playing softball over the years, it’s hard to choose just one. A lot of memories were made on and off the field. I’m so thankful for the coaches and teammates who have been a part of these wonderful moments. One of my favorite memories was when my Starz Gold 14U team won a Myrtle Beach tournament in 2021. The team battled really hard and won first place. We all worked together as a team and each of us played an important part to win the game. The feeling of success after working so hard is an amazing feeling. I look forward to many more great softball memories in the coming years!

“Maddie is a great kid who really developed since joining our team this fall. She is a smooth left-handed first baseman who has the ability to be a 5 tool player in the future. She did a little bit of everything for us this fall, defend, hit, steal bases, play small ball. She really did it all for us and came on strong as the season went on. She finished 2nd on our team in OPS this fall while having double-digit steals. One thing that really stood out with Maddie, that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet, is her team-first attitude. Maddie is a pretty quiet kid but is always cheering on her teammates; no matter what the situation. Literally, if there is only one person in the dugout cheering on the team it is Maddie. She is a special kid that we are lucky to have [as] part of our team.”
