The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Allyson Rasmussen (2029) from the Central Fastpitch League (CFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in March 2024. Rasmussen, a versatile player for Oklahoma Athletics 12U Madden/Davis excels on the field at third base, shortstop and behind the dish. Her March stats include a .750 batting average, a .769 OBP, 7 singles, 1 double, 1 triple, and 6 RBIs.

Allyson Rasmussen’s journey into softball begins at six years old, after attending a birthday party. Her mom suggests she play softball since some of her friends are joining a team, and she agrees. She starts with machine pitch, where she learns to play catcher and hit. Her love for the sport stems from the freedom she feels on the field, allowing her to be herself and sometimes let off some steam. Growing up, her family’s season tickets to the OKC Dodgers games also influence her, sparking an interest in the similar sports of baseball and softball. Meeting Lynnsie Elam later solidifies her desire to play competitive ball.

A cherished softball memory for Allyson is when her recreation ball team, the Diamonds, starts winning games, except against one team. They face that team in the season championship game and, against all odds, emerge victorious, securing the championship. This victory marks her first ring and remains her most treasured memory.

Her favorite player is Lynnsie Elam, whom she admires for her skill as a catcher at the University of Oklahoma and the opportunity to learn from her at camps. Outside of softball, Allyson enjoys basketball, spending time with friends, drawing, reading, making Reels on Instagram, and occasionally cooking or baking.

Her current goals include becoming more aggressive and a better leader on the field and basketball court, improving her focus and reducing distractions at school, avoiding burning things while cooking at home, and pursuing a career as a criminal profiler to solve crimes.

The Alliance Fastpitch commends Allyson Rasmussen for her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
