The Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL) is excited to spotlight Delilah Kincaid as the October Junior player of the month. Kincaid is a 2027 on Batbusters-09 Rogers.

The Indiana native had an impressive showing the month of October. Kincaid batted a .477 with 31 RBIs.

“Going into the 2021-2022 season I knew as a manager that I really needed to find a player with a big bat and a great glove to compete against the best teams in the country,” said Tom Rogers. “Last season, I watched and kept my eye on Delilah as she was playing up on an older team. I was lucky enough to have the parents and Delilah want to join our team for the 2021-2022 season. Delilah is a force at the plate with her power and filled a big hole we had at 3rd base. Delilah adds maturity and leadership on our team and she will be a player that all college coaches will want to keep their eye on. Big things to come for this young lady.”

“It all started with a glove, ball and my dad,” said Delilah. “I started playing the game at the age of 3. I started with rec ball. My dad and I would practice every day until I eventually got better. I Started travel ball as a 9yr old playing up. I made my first travel team (Hobart Stealers). I ended up going to the windmills out of Oak Park looking for better competition. Now I play for Batbusters-09 Rogers. I also play basketball.”

Delilah has so many favorite softball memories it’s hard to choose. “The 20-21 season was a roller-coaster,” she said. “The 20-21 season was a roller-coaster. I moved to a team to better myself and push myself. I was playing with older girls and it was my first big tournament. I played very well defensively but my batting wasn’t what I was use to batting only hitting .215. On the ride home, I was sad and angry. I looked and my dad and told him by the end of the summer I will raise my avg to .400. He said let’s grind. Starting with a new team half way to through the year was very tough but it was what I needed. We worked every day the entire summer. Fast forward to nationals in Virginia, I ended up batting .500 for the tourney and moving my avg to .397. I was very close to my goal. I jumped in my dad’s arms and gave him the biggest hug. I proved to myself that I belong playing at the high level.”

From all of us at the Alliance and the HFL, congratulations to Delilah Kincaid for her achievements.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
