The Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL) is excited to spotlight Gracie Maloney as the July Co-Player of the Month. Maloney is a pitcher and third baseman for Turnin2 National Maloney.

In July, Maloney dominated in the circle with 44 strikeouts, a .91 WHP, and maintained a 1.3 ERA. Her ferocity on the mound followed her at the plate with a .581 slugging percentage, 15 RBIs, and a .395 batting average.

Softball Story (How did you get started?) Tell us about you-
I started playing Tee Ball at age four in Little League for the Fireballs.  Then, I moved to Coach pitch with the Flames at age 5, 6, and 7.  After the Flames, I went to travel ball at age 8 on a 9u team.  I’ve been playing up in age my whole life and the tougher competition has made me a better player. My team has won many tournament championships throughout the years.  I played in the D1 High School State Championship Game this year.  My team made the J.O. Cup Championship Game this summer and we won our way into the Tier 1 Alliance National Championship. That was amazing!  I love my teammates.  I couldn’t accomplish anything without the great bunch of girls I get to play with on Turnin2 National Maloney.  They always push me to be a better player.  I’ve played with some of them for a very long time.  I’ve also been very fortunate to have had some great coaches and instructors in my life. I couldn’t do any of this without the support of my parents and my sister.

Favorite Softball memory-
This summer at the J.O. Cup, my team and I were able to play on Hall of Fame Stadium Field in OKC.  We actually played two games on the field and it was so much fun.  You dream of playing on that field when you are growing up and to actually get to play on it is a dream come true.

Coaches Feedback-
Gracie Maloney has been an integral player for our team.  The team is very confident when she has the ball in the circle.  She is a two-way threat and her powerful bat was huge for our team this summer.  She is a true 5-Tool player that has high velocity as a pitcher.  Her greatest team asset is probably the energy she brings. She is a leader in team cheers and gets our team’s energy up.  She really had an outstanding summer for us, especially in Colorado Power Pools, the J.O. Cup, and the Alliance Nationals.  Gracie is one of three 2024’s on a team full of 2023 commits and she has emerged as a team leader and a productive force for our team.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
