The Alliance Fastpitch is honored to recognize Leah Crompton  (2027) from the Heart of America Fastpitch League (HFL) as Player of the Month for her memorable November performance. Leah is a second baseman, shortstop, and catcher for the IL Force 14U National. In November, Crompton averaged 0.619 at the plate with 5 runs batted in, 13 singles, and a stolen base.

Leah Crompton’s connection to softball runs deep, having grown up surrounded by the game in the company of her dad and older sister. Softball has been a family affair for Leah, providing shared experiences, travels, and invaluable lessons learned from both the dugout and the field. Her early exposure to the sport included witnessing her sister’s journey through high school to Division I college softball, creating lasting memories that have fueled Leah’s own passion for the game.

As Leah gears up for her freshman high school season, she reflects on the excitement of finally stepping onto the field herself. The prospect of following in her sister’s footsteps and pursuing her dream of playing college softball is a source of joy and anticipation.

Leah’s dedication and skill on the softball field have already garnered recognition, as she was honored to be named to the Scenic City Fall Showcase Super Pool All-Tournament Team for Fall ’23. Additionally, she takes pride in being recognized as the Player of the Month for the Alliance. Leah actively contributes to the softball community by assisting her dad with hitting lessons, aiming to inspire younger athletes to persevere in their pursuit of goals.

A standout memory for Leah is the day both her team and her sister’s team secured victories at the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series. Coached by their parents, this triumph stands as a cherished family softball memory.

In terms of softball idols, Leah admires Tori Schullian and Katelyn Massa from Southern Illinois University, drawing inspiration from their achievements in the sport.

Beyond the softball diamond, Leah enjoys spending time outdoors, filming hunting videos for Killin’ It Outdoors and participating in beagle field trials that have earned top placements worldwide.

Looking ahead, Leah aspires to balance a strong education with her love for playing college softball. Her goal is to pursue a degree in education, blending her passion for the game with a commitment to academic excellence.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
