The Northeast Fastpitch League (NEFL) is proud to name Brooke Douglas the NEFL’s 14U Fall Spotlight Athlete for 2021. The Absecon, NJ native is making waves for the NJ Gators. Douglas, a 2026 graduate, posted eye-popping numbers this fall which you can find below!

Meet Brooke:

Q: Tell us a little bit about you and your softball story?
A: My love for softball began at the young age of four. I didn’t know much about the game and I even tried to run the bases backwards at first. With many years of practice, dedication, and a strong desire to grow and develop as a player, I am now on a great travel team and look forward to playing high school ball next year.

Q: What is your favorite softball memory?
A: I have many great memories playing softball, but one of my favorite memories is actually one of my first. After a really great game in 1 OU the umpire came over to me and said “You got something special kid. I’ll be reading about you in the newspaper one day.” Those words have stuck in my mind ever since then and I have been working hard to make them come true.

Coaches Feedback:

“As Brooke’s head coach for the past 6 months or so, I have had the privilege of getting to know this well-balanced and driven young lady.  Brooke is the type of player who always has a smile on her face.  Her hard work and dedication to our softball program will certainly get her to where she wants to be in the future.  Last fall season, Brooke had a .302 batting average, .714 slugging percentage and accumulated 5 home runs, which included 2 grand slams and 2 walk-off wins for the NJ Gators.  Brooke drove in 21 RBI’s which was third highest on this very talented team.  On top of her batting achievements, Brooke is a highly talented pitcher who can throw up to 62 mph as an 8th grader.  Brooke totaled 47 innings pitched and struck out 52 batters throughout the fall season.  Brooke finished the season in the circle with the lowest batting average against on the team at an astounding .159 BAA.  I look forward to coaching Brooke in the years to come and with her drive to become the best she possibly can be, I know she will be playing at a very high level in college.”
