Katie Dack Recognized as the National Sr. Player of the Month for April

By: Arielle Gordon

As part of the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program, we are excited to honor Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League (RMFL) catcher Katie Dack as the National Sr. Player of the Month for her performance in April.

Dack catches for the Colorado Styxx 18U Gold and after she graduates high school this spring, she will continue her academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University.

In April, Dack hit .577 in 26 at-bats. She recorded an OBP of .625, an OPS of 2.03, and a 1.385 slugging percentage. At the plate, she collected six singles, three doubles, six home runs, and 14 RBI. She also stole two bases.

“I’m just excited to have fun this year with my teammates and just really enjoy the time I have left on the Colorado Styxx,” Dack said.

She started playing softball because she looked up to her older brother who played baseball and she’s a catcher because of her mom.

As Dack puts it: “It’s kind of a funny story. As a kid I didn’t really pay attention on the field. So my mom kind of stuck me back at catcher and I’ve fallen in love with it ever since that day.”

At Texas A&M, she plans to pursue psychology. She’s looking forward to “making new friends, exploring new things and really seeing how I can test my limits as a player.”

Colorado Styxx 18U Gold is currently in second place in the 18U RMFL standings. In April, the team went a combined 9–3 at two tournaments.

“She brings her ‘A’ game to every game we have, and she always goes 100%,” Styxx head coach Pablo Severtson said. “She’s definitely going to make an impact when she gets to Texas A&M.”

From all of us at the Alliance and the RMFL, congratulations to Katie Dack for her achievements.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
