As part of the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program, we are excited to honor Southeast Fastpitch League (SEFL) catcher, Makenna Bellaire of Tampa Mustangs as the National Player of the Month for her performance in October.

Bellaire showed her batting skills at the dish this October with a .800 AVG and .692 OBP. The 2025 ended the month with a 2.418 OPS and a 1.6 SLG.

Softball Story (How did you get started? Tell us about you-

I began playing after I saw my older sister play rec ball when I was five. I always wanted to copy her, and softball happened to be something she did! After that I fell in love with the sport and spend every day working on it.

Favorite Softball memory-

Even though every season is special, my favorite memory is probably my first ever high school game. I was so nervous with half the school there but the team all hyped each other up and we won!

Who is your favorite softball player?*

My favorite softball player has to be Kassie Molar. She played for USF as a catcher then a third baseman and taught me everything about catching. She has always been a huge inspiration for me.

What are some of your current goals – both on and off the field? (Softball, school, other athletics, related, etc. all welcomed!)

My goals for softball are to play at the highest level in the best fit school I can. After that, I aspire to play pro or on team Canada! Outside of softball, a goal I am always working for is straight A’s, but a new goal is growing my lifts in weightlifting. I compete for my school and work every day to get stronger for my teams.

Coaches Feedback-

One of the best softball athletes out there. Extremely talented on and off the field. Her softball IQ is insanely good!!! Excels in the classroom just as much as on the field. One of my favorite memories of her was when she hit a grand-slam home run at the Legacy showcase.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
