Tell us a bit about your softball story! How’d you get started in the sport?

I have been playing softball since I was 4.5 years old. Before I could play, I was always at the fields for my older sisters’ games and I couldn’t wait to get out there and play. My Aunt even bought me a glove and ball when I turned 3.

What has been your favorite softball memory?

My favorite memory was when my team in rec ball were in TOC. It was raining and both teams decided to keep playing through and we won TOC! Rain and all.

Who is your favorite softball player?

My favorite player is #24 Jayda Coleman with Oklahoma. I actually went to the Mary Nutter tournament last year and hung out with her Dad in the stands and watched her play, he bought me popcorn and snacks. He said he loved the look of determination in my eyes. I will always remember that moment.

What do you like to do outside of softball?

Well, when there is time outside of softball, lol. I really love going to the desert with our friends and family. I ride a 110 Honda Dirt Bike.

What are some of your current goals – both on and off the field? (Softball, school, other athletics, related, etc. all welcomed!)

My goals are always to do good and be good no matter what I am doing. My Mom tells me that on and off the field. I always strive to be better and do better.

Coach Feedback

Tell us a bit about your athlete? As a player, person, etc.

Brilyn has this type of fire inside you can’t teach, you’re just born with it. Putting that with her natural athletic ability creates one heck of a ball player!! Whether she is playing in the infield, outfield or in the catcher’s gear, you know the play will be made with 100% effort. Her diving plays are incredible to watch!! Brilyn has a great swing and able to put the bat on the consistently. The bombs and hard-hit line drives are fun to watch but her sweet bunts are one of my favorites combined with her speed on the base path!

Do you have a favorite memory or moment of this athlete?

When Brilyn came to Excel Preps, we were short on outfielders, and we threw her out there to see what she had. First game she played with us, a shot was hit to deep center, one of those hits your just like dang! Brilyn’s impressive speed and read on the ball robbed that batter of what would have been a great hit with multiple RBI’s.

Is there anything else you’d like to share, include, or that we should know?

Brilyn has natural talent. As a coach, I’m honored to be part of her softball journey and help develop her talent.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
