The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Amaya Perez (2028) from the Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in February 2024. Amaya Perez, a versatile player for Firecrackers Brashear Martinez, excels in her primary position—Pitcher. Her February offensive stats include a .583 batting average, a .643 OBP, 5 singles, 1 double, 1 triple, 6 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases. Through 14 innings pitched, she had 6 strikeouts with a 1.61 WHP and 3.5 ERA.

Amaya Perez’s softball journey began with her introduction to the sport at the age of 5. In her second year of 10U, amidst Covid-related restrictions in California, she joined the Ohana Tigers travel ball team. Over the years, Amaya has played for various teams including Ohana, Batbusters, and now the Firecrackers Brashear. She expresses her love and appreciation for her team, coaches, and the supportive families that stand behind their collective efforts.

A cherished softball memory for Amaya Perez is attending the Mary Nutter Classic with her family when she was young. During the event, she had the opportunity to pitch alongside a college player from Auburn. Encouraged by the college player’s praise, who told her she was really good and could become a college pitcher with hard work, Amaya felt inspired and motivated. The experience was further enhanced when FloSoftball posted a video of her, making it a memorable and validating moment in her softball journey.

Amaya’s favorite softball player is Jayda Coleman due to her extraordinary center field skills and ability to be a leadoff hitter for OU Softball. Outside of softball, Amaya Perez finds joy in a variety of activities. She enjoys all sports and anything competitive, including board games. Additionally, Amaya delights in spending time with friends, watching sports, creating art, swimming, and indulging in her favorite pastimes of sleeping and eating. When she’s not at the softball fields, you can often find Amaya at Petco Park, passionately cheering on the Padres.

Amaya Perez’s current goals are multifaceted. On the field, she aims to excel in hitting, fielding, and pitching, while also prioritizing being a supportive teammate. Off the field, Amaya aspires to attend college, pursue a career, travel, establish a family by getting married, and eventually have children. These goals reflect her aspirations for both her athletic and personal endeavors, demonstrating her ambition and determination to succeed in all aspects of life. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Amaya Perez on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
