The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces AJ Ahyou (2032) from the Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in March 2024. AJ Ahyou, a versatile player for Batbusters CR 10U, excels in multiple positions—outfield, first base, catcher. Her March stats include a .714 batting average, a .714 OBP, 3 singles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 3 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases.

A.J. Ahyou’s softball journey began at the age of 5 when she joined the Chino Hills Girls Softball League. She was inspired to play by her aunt, Chana’e Jones, who played for Oklahoma. A.J. fell in love with softball for its excitement and the opportunity to improve skills at different positions, as well as the friendships she made along the way.

One of A.J.’s cherished softball memories is hitting a home run at Regionals in Glendora with her 8U All-Star Team.

Her favorite player is Jocelyn Alo, whom she admires for being the best hitter of all time and for sharing her Samoan heritage. Outside of softball, A.J. finds joy in activities like surfing, skating, trampolining, swimming, and spending time with friends.

A.J.’s current goals include improving her surfing skills, hitting her first over-the-fence home run, maintaining straight A’s, and eventually playing softball in college.

A.J.’s coach, Jess Collazo, describes her as a sparkplug both on the field and in the lineup. Despite her competitive spirit during games, she remains silly and extremely friendly off the field, living life to the fullest. Jess sees a bright future for A.J., given her exceptional athleticism and positive attitude.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
