The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Julia Horton (2029) from the Pacific Coast Fastpitch League (PCFL) as Player of the Month and Alliance National Pitcher of the Month for her remarkable play in February 2024. Julia Horton, a versatile player for OC Batbusters Neff/Horton, excels in multiple positions—Pitcher, Second Base. Her February stats include a .571 batting average, a .600 OBP, 3 singles, 3 doubles, 2 triples, 4 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases. Through 7.1 innings pitched, she has 2 hits allowed, 12 strikeouts, a 1.23 WHP, and a .95 ERA.

Julia Horton embarked on her softball journey in recreational ball at age 6, transitioning to travel ball in pursuit of greater competition. She thrives on the mental and physical challenges of the game, supported by the OC Batbusters organization as she strives for collegiate softball. Grateful for her coaches’ guidance, especially in hitting and pitching, Julia values the lessons learned both on and off the field. However, it’s the camaraderie with her teammates that truly enriches her experience, culminating in her recognition as Player of the Month, a testament to their collective effort and friendship.

A cherished softball memory for Julia Horton includes both off-field camaraderie with teammates during travel softball and the exhilarating experience of playing in the Hall-of-Fame Stadium in Oklahoma during the 10U Alliance Championship in 2022. The tour of the University of Oklahoma softball facility served as inspiration for Julia and her team as they battled through challenges to win the Alliance National Championship.

Julia Horton’s favorite players are Montana Fouts and Jordy Bahl, but outside of softball, she finds joy in various hobbies. She has a passion for music, art, and baking, and particularly enjoys watching baking reality competition shows. Additionally, Julia is musically inclined, playing both the piano and clarinet. Bonding activities like shooting hoops with her sister also bring her happiness outside of the softball field.

Julia Horton’s current goals are ambitious and multifaceted. On the field, her primary aim is to contribute to her team’s success in winning an Alliance Championship in July. She emphasizes the importance of teamwork, execution of practiced plays, and personal improvement both physically and mentally as key components of achieving this goal. Off the field, Julia aspires to play softball in college while also exploring potential career paths. Whether it be pursuing architecture, interior design, sports broadcasting, or coaching at the collegiate level, she remains open to the possibilities that lie ahead. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Julia Horton on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
