The Alliance Fastpitch proudly announces Liv Dorsey (2028) from the Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League (RMFL) as Player of the Month for her remarkable play in April 2024. Liv Dorsey, a versatile player for Colorado Angels ‘09, excels in multiple positions— outfield, second base. Her April stats include a .667 batting average and OBP, 3 singles, 1 double 5 RBIs, and 1 stolen base.
Liv Dorsey’s softball journey begins when her dad signs her up to play local softball at nine years old. From the very first day, she loves playing softball. Liv truly enjoys being part of a team, cherishing her teammates and coaches, who motivate her to play well as an individual. For Liv, there isn’t a better feeling than achieving a great team win and doing her part to help.
A cherished memory for Liv is hitting her first home run out of the park in 12U softball, a significant moment since she is not typically a power hitter.
Liv’s favorite player is Sammie Reynolds, as they share the same number and position—left outfield. Outside of softball, Liv finds joy in playing tennis with her dad and hanging out with her family and friends. As the youngest of six siblings, she values her family time immensely.
Liv’s current goals include being a two-sport athlete in high school, participating in both softball and tennis, and eventually playing college softball while pursuing a career as a veterinarian. The Alliance Fastpitch commends Liv on her well-deserved recognition as Player of the Month, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to the sport and her commitment to personal and athletic growth.
Liv’s coach, Dustin Rice, describes her as a fun-loving, easygoing, and fast athlete. Her teammates love her punky personality, which brings a lot of enjoyment to the lineup. Liv has the ability to out-hustle on many plays, making her a key part of the team. Off the field, she excels academically, finishing middle school with nearly perfect grades, and focuses much of her attention on supporting her family and friends. Dustin’s favorite memories of Liv involve her spectacular plays and hits where she herself is surprised by her success. One highlight is a reel catch where she stands up, just as surprised as her team, moments that fuel her confidence to be great.
What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?
The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.
Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
