As part of the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program, we are excited to honor Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League (RMFL) 2nd Baseman and catcher, Mollie Bozek of 14U Batbusters (Brown) as the Junior Player of the Month AND Alliance Junior National Player of the Month  for her exciting performance in April.

Bozek had a standout month at the plate with a .618 batting average. The 2027 closed the month with an impressive 16 RBIS, 10 singles, 9 doubles, 1 triple,  1 homerun, and 6 stolen bases.

Tell us a bit about your softball story! How’d you get started in the sport?

I started my softball journey when I was 10 years old. I had always wanted to play baseball but decided to give softball a chance instead. Ever since that very first game I have been in love with the sport and knew that God was calling me to softball.

What has been your favorite softball memory?

My favorite softball memory was winning the Lorreta B Smith tournament. The championship game lasted over three hours, and every player on our team did their part. What I loved most about this moment was the team coming together and playing for each other. We ended up winning that game by one point and it will be a memory I will never forget.

Who is your favorite softball player?

My favorite softball player is Kinzie Hansen who plays for the Oklahoma Sooners. She is my favorite player because she walks with humility while being confident in her ability.

What do you like to do outside of softball?

Outside of softball I like to participate in weightlifting and speed training. I have been doing both these activities for three years and have grown fond of them. I also enjoy working out with friends, or ice skating with my brother.

What are some of your current goals – both on and off the field? (Softball, school, other athletics, related, etc. all welcomed!)

I am a very goal-oriented person who always sets big and small goals for myself. Some of my goals include keeping a 4.0 gpa, working to better myself on and off the field, being a supportive teammate and growing in my faith. I hope to learn more about the mental side of softball this season and continue to be confident at the plate and behind the plate.

Coaches Response

Tell us a bit about your athlete? As a player, person, etc.

Mollie works harder than any player I’ve ever coached. She plays with grit and embodies what it looks like to be a true team leader! As a catcher, she has stepped into a commanding role and shows her team how to overcome adversity. Mollie is a very special player, athlete, and human being! We are all blessed to have Mollie in our lives.

Do you have a favorite memory or moment of this athlete?

I have been coaching Mollie for a few years. During our 1st year, she hit an in the park line drive, homerun and with all the celebration at home plate with her teammates, she missed tagging the bag. The run was taken away, but the lesson was gained. Mollie has NEVER missed home plate again! She’s had lots of homeruns since then!

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month. To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
