The Rocky Mountain Fastpitch League (RMFL) is excited to spotlight Paige Hutsell as the March Player of the Month. Hutsell is a 1st baseman and left-handed pitcher on EC Coyotes 18u – Hayes.

Hutsell had a great showing at the plate this March.  The 2023 posted a .632 batting average with 9 RBI’s 8 Singles, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, and 1 stolen base in 19 at-bats. To date, Hutsell holds a .458 batting average and .606 OBP. She’s solid on defense with a .977 fielding percentage and 25 strikeouts in just 13 innings.

“It has truly been a pleasure to have been able to coach Paige since she was 9 years old, said head coach Jon Hayes. “She has grown into a strong, hardworking, passionate player that always has the potential to make something special happen every time she steps up to the plate.  Her smile can light up the dugout and her power and energy can be very contagious to the rest of the team. She is also very athletic and has natural instincts for the game and it shows when she’s at first base or in the circle.

To her teammates, she’s the dugout DJ and sets the playlist for practices, games, and walk-up songs. The girls truly enjoy her DJ talents and the motivation they provide. Paige shines in the classroom just much as she does on the field. She carries a 3.5 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. Paige is very active in the recruiting process and talking with several coaches. She has not yet committed, but wherever she ends up committing to will be getting a wonderful person, a solid student, and a great athlete. The whole EC Coyotes pack is very proud to have Paige representing our organization. Congratulations, Paige!”

“I started playing softball when I was 9 for the rec league for Limon,” she said. “That was the first year I played softball, so I wasn’t expecting to make All-Stars, yet I was wrong. The coach for the All-Star team is the founder of the Coyotes, and I have been playing for him for the past 7 years. My coaches Jon Hayes and Troy Jaklich have given me the best opportunities to play softball, and I am looking forward to playing at the next level!

My favorite softball memory is when I played in the Babe Ruth World Series. It was in 2018, and I was playing for the EC Coyotes. This is an experience I will never forget; I made the best memories playing beside a great group of girls.”

From all of us at the Alliance and the RMFL, congratulations to Paige Hutsell for her achievements.

What is the Alliance Fastpitch Player Recognition Program?

The Player Recognition Program was built to recognize and spotlight our individual players in each Member League. Each month, registered Alliance Fastpitch coaches can nominate a player from their age division. League Leadership will review nominations and a monthly stats report from AthletesGoLive (AGL) to determine the League’s Player of the Month.

Following the announcement of each League’s Players of the Month, the Alliance Fastpitch will recognize a National Player of the Month.

To be considered for Player of the Month, your team must score League games in AGL so your stats will be included in the League’s monthly report.
