Winning state this past October was so memorable. It was 15 of the most high-stakes innings I’ve ever pitched, and so the feeling of relief when I threw that last pitch was something I’ll never forget.

Rupturing my ACL and the subsequent recovery process was a wild experience to live through. There were so many tears, so many times I thought I would never even jump again, much less throw a curveball again. It was truly so discouraging and PT was very difficult. But, I lifted more intensely than I ever had before and so eventually, I was cleared. Since I tore it at the end of sophomore year and recovered for a year, I jumped in to recruiting the summer after junior year. It felt late, but my work paid off better than I thought. Stanford recruited me, and the rest is pretty much history.

I want my legacy in softball to be one centered around my passion for the game and my role as a teammate. I hope that by the end of my time playing, the teammates I have touched and will touch in the future say they felt genuinely seen and loved by me. If I ever coach, I want my legacy in that regard to be one where I cared well for those under my care and showed them what I love about the game so they can love it, too.

My mom seems like and unassuming stay-at-home mom, but she actually has her master’s in civil engineering. My dad works for Google and also happens to be quite a bullpen catcher.

The coaches did an exceptional job recruiting me. They actually started looking at me when I was still recovering my ACL; I wasn’t even throwing bullpens yet, but they still saw something in me. There were so many times they could have walked away or left me for a different recruit, but they didn’t. Ultimately, that loyalty in the recruiting process, when it’s so hard to be loyal, convinced me that they actually wanted me on my good days and bad for the next 4 years.

I like to rock climb and hike and hang out with my family.

Jordy Frahm, because of what I said above combined with her absolute focus on the mound and in the box. Plus, we both tore our ACLs around the same time, so watching her comeback gave me hope for mine.
